Meet The Founder

Ken Kwong-Kay Wong, PCM (AMA), BSc (Toronto), MBA (Nyenrode), DBA (Newcastle)
Founder, Presentria.ai

Dr. Ken Wong is an educator, entrepreneur, technology innovator, and author whose career has focused on one central question:

How can technology improve the human experience?

For more than 27 years, Ken has worked at the intersection of technology, business, education, and human-centered innovation. His professional journey spans telecommunications, healthcare education, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and higher education, providing a unique perspective on how technology can be used to solve real-world problems.

Today, he is the founder of the Presentria AI Companion for Elders initiative, a project dedicated to exploring how conversational AI can help address loneliness, social isolation, and emotional wellbeing among older adults.

Why This Project Matters

Canada’s population is aging rapidly. As more seniors choose to live independently, many face increasing challenges related to loneliness, social isolation, and limited access to support networks.

While artificial intelligence is often discussed in terms of productivity and automation, Ken believes its greatest impact may come from helping people feel more connected, supported, and engaged.

The Presentria AI Companion for Elders project was created to explore how accessible voice-based AI can provide companionship, daily engagement, and meaningful conversation to seniors regardless of their technical abilities.

Experience in Artificial Intelligence

Ken has been actively involved in AI-enabled education, innovation, and digital transformation for several years.

He is the co-founder of Presentria (www.presentria.ca), a Canadian educational technology company focused on inclusive and AI-driven learning experiences. He teaches master’s-level courses on Artificial Intelligence and Industry 5.0 for business leaders and has authored books on AI applications, digital transformation, and human-centric innovation.

As a recognized voice in AI adoption and implementation, Ken has delivered keynote presentations and executive education sessions for academic and industry audiences. In 2025, he was invited to speak at The Globe and Mail’s “Finding the ROI in AI” event (video), where he discussed the role of data and artificial intelligence in generating business value. In 2026, he presented “The Augmented Knowledge Worker in Higher Education” (video) for Contact North, exploring how AI is transforming the future of teaching, learning, and knowledge work.

His work focuses not only on what AI can do, but also on how it can be implemented responsibly, ethically, and effectively to improve people’s lives. Through his teaching, research, speaking engagements, and entrepreneurial ventures, he continues to help organizations navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence.

Healthcare and Aging Perspectives

Ken’s connection to healthcare extends beyond technology.

He spent ten years teaching MBA Healthcare Marketing to nurses and healthcare professionals at Post University’s American Sentinel College of Nursing & Health Sciences in the United States.

Through this experience, he gained insight into healthcare systems, patient engagement, healthcare communication, and the challenges facing healthcare professionals and aging populations.

These experiences helped shape his understanding of the growing need for innovative solutions that support seniors while complementing existing healthcare and caregiving resources.

Entrepreneurial Experience

Before entering academia, Ken spent more than a decade in Canada’s telecommunications industry.

He was a founding executive team member and Vice President of Marketing at TeraGo Networks (TSX: TGO; www.terago.ca), helping build the company from concept stage into a publicly traded national telecommunications provider.

He also held leadership roles in product marketing and technology commercialization at PSINet, Sprint Canada, and TELUS Mobility.

These experiences provided hands-on expertise in building organizations, launching technology products, scaling operations, and leading innovation initiatives.

Global Educator and Thought Leader

Alongside his full-time academic career, Ken has taught executives, MBA students, entrepreneurs, and business leaders around the world.

His appointments as visiting professor have included AACSB-accredited and triple-crown business schools in Europe, Asia, and North America, where he has taught courses in marketing, innovation, entrepreneurship, customer experience, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.

These engagements have allowed him to observe how demographic change, healthcare challenges, and emerging technologies are affecting societies globally.

Awards and Recognition

Ken has received 17 awards recognizing excellence in teaching, innovation, digital learning, and student success throughout his academic career. Notable recognition include:

• Minister of Colleges and Universities’ Award of Excellence, Government of Ontario (September, 2020)

• FCAD Spotlight Award, Seneca Polytechnic (March, 2023)

Ken is also the author of 14 books and 22 peer-reviewed publications covering artificial intelligence, Industry 5.0, marketing, customer experience, digital transformation, and business innovation. His work has been presented to academic, executive, and industry audiences internationally, helping organizations understand how emerging technologies can create meaningful business and societal impact.

Looking Ahead

The Presentria AI Companion for Elders project represents the convergence of Ken’s lifelong interests in technology, education, entrepreneurship, and human wellbeing.

His vision is simple:

To help ensure that every senior has access to meaningful conversation, emotional support, and companionship through accessible, human-centered AI.

While technology cannot replace family members, caregivers, or healthcare professionals, it can help bridge gaps, extend support, and improve quality of life for older adults.

That belief continues to drive the development of the Presentria AI Companion for Elders initiative.
